Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Chapter 1247 A Mysterious Auction

"A Sage? I'm sorry Olivia but I have no idea what you're talking about… I am not a Sage," I said.

"Well, it is a Title among Magicians," she explained. "For example, my great grandfather is the Sage of Runes. They're people that have reached such a high level of magic by specializing towards a single element that they become almost unparalleled… But you, hmm, I suppose you're not quite a Sage. I was overreacting I suppose."

"Nah, it's fine, really," I smiled. "I kind of want to know more about this Title and what it entails? Does it have some relation with the Clock Tower?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Why yes," she said. "In the Clock Tower, there's Twelve Sages, each one also governs over a special area of the organization and had been doing so for many years."

"H-How many years?" I wondered.

"Oh my, perhaps… Like, well!" she muttered. "Hmm… hundreds?"

"Hundreds?! People can live for so long?" asked Rita.

"With magic, it is possible to slow down your aging ability, or even stagnate your body within time at a certain age," said Olivia. "Some even chose to transform their bodies into half-supernatural beings such as Vampires, or Werewolves, or something else to live longer. I think there's a sage that has become worms."

"W-Worms?" I wondered. "Uhh, I see… That's a bit freaky." Enjoy new tales from empire

"It might be quite scary, but I assure you that he is a respected master of magic on his own right!" giggled Olivia. Nonetheless, I suppose I overreacted because of your variety of incredible abilities. But it isn't as if I couldn't do most of the things you do, but on my own way, and there's magicians even better than me that could do even more surprising things I believe."

"Oh, really?" I wondered.

I didn't feel offended by her words at all, I was well aware Olivia was a very powerful magician. I don't even believe I could win against her if we fought one against one, honestly.

Yes, maybe I'm looking down at myself, but she's hiding a lot of Magic Power, and even the Great Spirit told me when I met her that she might be dangerous due to her tremendous Magic Ability.

A Master of Runes shouldn't be messed with… or so she said.

Runic Magic might seem normal at first, but if she truly can conjure Runes, transform them and fuse them at will with extreme ease and without any restrictions, then she's definitely very powerful!

"Yes, anyways, I think we've talked enough about things that don't really matter to you, right? Shall we go back to report what has been done?"

I was thankful that Olivia, despite her intimidating first appearance, was actually quite a nice lady that sometimes overreacts. She has a Swedish accent every now and then, which makes her more endearing I believe.

We quickly went inside the car and by using magic, I was able to use it without many problems, even though I had only driven a car a couple of times at most before, I did fine, as long as it is magically controlled!

Once we reached the small building where the SWORD agents were gathered with some hunters and military men, we reported what we did with Olivia witness and also by showing the monsters bodies.

I also attested that I've tamed three fire bear cubs and also the plant monsters, showing the bear cubs inside the car and also the monsters within my wooden body.

They said that it wasn't illegal for agents to own tamed monsters or familiars, but that I had to, at the very least, keep them hidden from normal view and try to find ways to transport them without being seen.

If I end up having my monsters reported for doing something bad, or attacking people, they apparently have the right to kill them or even revoke my agent license… damn.

Okay, I guess we have to make sure that doesn't happen!

Blackie and Falco have the ability to camouflage as normal animals, the plant monsters can also act as normal plants, and the bear cubs… I think those will be a bit harder.

I think they'll have to just stay inside my Domain anyways, they've been completely tamed so they'll do whatever Mark says as long as we keep them well-fed.

After that was done, it was time for payment and such, we ended selling like around sixty percent of the ant corpses, and that combined with everything else easily earned us almost two billion USD!

Indeed, we just earned that much by killing easy monsters! I couldn't believe it, and I didn't even know what to do with this money!

However, we had to divide it between every person here, for such large amounts of money the government creates separate bank accounts tied to SWORD where we can easily deposit and take out all the money we want without restrictions.

This way, we can keep looking like normal civilians to our actual banks, while our real wealth remains in a different bank that works in any place of the world with special International Visa Cards.

Really convenient!

"And done!" said Olivia. "It seems you've earned yourselves a large amount of money, it makes me wonder what will you spend it on?"

"Uuh, I think we'll save it for now, I don't even know what to spend it on for the moment…" I sighed. "Maybe one day I'll buy a bigger house? I don't know."

Wait, maybe I could try to buy the surrounding houses and streets to more easily expand my Domain? That's a possibility.

I think I had other ideas, maybe like traveling the world, or buying expensive magic items that can only be obtained on Earth.

Perhaps joining the Magician's Association or the Clock Tower, I remember that it cost a lot of money or something.

"Hahah! You're really good with jokes!" she giggled. "There's a Special Auction happening in a couple of days over at the Clock Tower. I could help you participate there, maybe online?"

"Oh, that sounds interesting…" I said. "But I don't know, what will they have?"

"Not everything has been revealed yet, so the auction doesn't get attacked by people," she explained. "But my dad told me that a Fragment of the Crown of Gilgamesh will be auctioned."

"G-Gilgamesh?! Wait, he was real?"
