Qiao Sang advanced directly to the national competition by finishing first in her group.

When the news reached Hanggang City, it caused an uproar among those familiar with the scale of the National Campus Beast Mastering League.

Their city produced someone who went straight to the nationals?

And it was a high school freshman, only 15 years old, competing in the senior group?

Suddenly, Qiao Sang's growth story became the talk of the town.

---

A Certain Neighborhood.

A middle-aged woman sat on the sofa, gripping a test paper so tightly her hands trembled with anger.

"How did you score like this?! The high school entrance exam is next semester! How are you supposed to get into an ordinary high school with these grades?" She yelled furiously.

"Mom, what era are we even living in? Grades don’t matter anymore. As long as I awaken my potential, schools will come begging for me." Retorted a bespectacled boy standing by the sofa, craning his neck.

The middle-aged woman chuckled coldly.

"You? Awaken your potential?"

The boy, clearly irked, shot back:

"Ever heard of Qiao Sang? That genius who directly advanced to the nationals after topping her group in the regionals? She used to be ranked third from last in her class back in middle school! Later, she awakened on her own and got into Shengshui High School."

Excitedly, he added, "Mom, when I awaken, I want to contract a Fire Fang Dog just like her!"

The woman scoffed.

"Fire Fang Dog? Be like Qiao Sang? How many people like her do you think exist? What do you even have to compare with her?"

The boy grumbled, "What kind of mother talks about her son like that?"

"If you don’t want me to say things like this, then go study and improve your grades! What are you still standing here for?!" The woman bellowed.

You’re the one who called me over to lecture me… The boy grumbled internally as he shuffled back to his room.

Once he was gone, the woman’s expression turned thoughtful. She picked up her phone and began searching for the price of Fire Fang Dogs online.

The buzz around Qiao Sang even led many families to consider contracting a Fire Fang Dog.

The sudden interest caused the Fire Fang Breeding Store’s business to skyrocket, leaving Ye Xiangting no time to catch up with her friends over the phone.

After dinner, Qiao Sang lay on her bed, scrolling through places to visit in the Ancient Guwu Region, occasionally replying to messages.

With her spot in the nationals secured, she had a week of free time while the remaining 32 participants were determined. After that, the top eight would compete for rankings. ꭆ

Finally getting a chance to visit the Ancient Guwu Region, she decided to take some time to explore and have fun.

“Balance between work and play is essential.” She muttered.

"Underwater Ancient City? Sounds good. Ruins exploration, maybe even some ancient beast fossils."

"Underwater Battle Arena? Perfect for Yabao to play around."

"Underwater Museum? Eh, pass."

As she carefully sifted through online recommendations, her phone buzzed. The caller ID read Professor Jiang.

"Hello, Professor Jiang." Qiao Sang answered.

"Tomorrow, there’s an underwater wild beast interaction event. Want to join?" Jiang Xiu asked directly.

Qiao Sang blinked in surprise.

"An underwater wild beast interaction event?"

Professor Jiang explained: "Unlike Yuhua Region, this area is teeming with wild aquatic beasts. To ensure they recognize us and don’t attack on sight, we host these events every three months.

“Certain areas are marked as safe, meaning the water beasts there don’t attack humans. Others remain unsafe, indicating the beasts aren’t familiar with us yet and could strike at any time.

“We’ll be heading to one of those unsafe zones.”

“Participants must have at least one general-level aquatic beast. If not, they need to be accompanied by a beastmaster with a king-level water beast.

“Interested? The area’s still untouched, so you might find some valuable items.”

Do I, someone with an unlimited spending card for the year, care about treasure?

Qiao Sang thought to herself before answering enthusiastically, “I’m in!”

---

Underwater, on the back of a massive aquatic beast encased in a bubble, Pei Shipan, dressed in a black suit, asked skeptically, “Are you sure this will work?”

“I have no idea.” Jiang Xiu admitted.

“This was Old Xu’s suggestion.”

Pei Shipan fell silent.

The so-called underwater wild beast interaction event had actually concluded last month. This one was a ruse cooked up by a group of people hoping to entice Qiao Sang to consider staying in the Ancient Guwu Region in the future.

Their goal was to amaze her with underwater wonders and ensure she stumbled upon valuable treasures, ones they’d plant if necessary.

As Old Xu put it: “No one can resist a treasure-filled underwater paradise.”

---

The next morning, Qiao Sang woke up early, dressed, and carried Yabao with Little Treasure perched on her head as she headed to the hotel lobby.

Jiang Xiu was already waiting in the lounge, a large black backpack on his shoulders.

“Professor Jiang, do we really need to bring so much?” Qiao Sang asked in shock.

“It’s just in case.” Professo Jiang replied with a smile.

“How about putting it in Little Treasure’s ring? It’d be lighter that way.” She suggested.

Hearing this, Little Treasure eagerly touched his ring, ready to store the bag.

“No need!” Jiang quickly declined.

“It’s not heavy at all.”

No way am I putting it in the ring. How else will I scatter treasures later?

---

Underwater, dozens of medium to large aquatic beasts gathered, each encased in a bubble carrying humans inside.

When Jiang Xiu and Qiao Sang arrived on the back of a Sea Salt Lizard, a man in a tan overcoat brightened and announced, “Everyone’s here. Let’s head out.”

Dozens of aquatic beasts began swimming in unison toward a designated area.

Inside their bubble, Little Treasure pressed against the wall, his eyes sparkling as he gazed at the underwater scenery.

Yabao, nestled in Qiao Sang’s arms, was tense. While he didn’t dislike water as much as before, being surrounded by it on all sides still felt unnerving.

Sensing Yabao’s discomfort, Qiao Sang asked, “Want to return to the beast codex?”

Yabao shook his head. He had learned that overcoming his fears, whether of ghostly beings or water, was essential to growing stronger.

Yabao’s growing up… Qiao Sang thought with pride as their group swam toward the deep-sea zone.
