Beast Taming: I Can Evolve Indefinitely

Chapter 540: 535: Nightmare Comes from Fear

Chapter 540: Chapter 535: Nightmare Comes from Fear

“No wonder the news about the Dream Demon Beast Secret Realm has been preserved for so many years; probably no one has been able to break through the dreamland seal, so it survived until now.”

Bai Qi withdrew once again from the Dream Demon Beast Secret Realm. Looking at the nearly exhausted wormwood beside him, he thought and then directly activated the Evolution Egg.

The Evolution Egg had consumed the Judgment Angel Secret Realm; there was no reason it couldn’t handle a realm left behind by a legendary creature.

However, the Evolution Egg really failed this time.

Regardless of Bai Qi’s efforts, the Evolution Egg showed no interest in the Dream Demon Beast Secret Realm and wouldn’t move at all.

“Because it’s not a real secret realm, so it can’t merge?”

Bai Qi scratched his head. He was now caught in a chicken-and-egg situation.

“Seems like I have to ask Nicholas for help.”

“Then I’ll go contact him now.”

Upon hearing this, the wormgrass immediately opened the Jade Imprint to contact Nicholas. Without waiting for Bai Qi to react, a dreamy shadow appeared beside him.

“Bai Qi, you need something from this dragon?”

“Um, indeed, but I think you’re pretty busy with your current form.”

Looking at Nicholas, who resembled a Lost Spirit, Bai Qi couldn’t help but sigh as few black lines appeared on his forehead. Unfazed, Nicholas said, “You mean this? I’ve been practicing Jade Vision recently and can project my illusion in the real world within the Jade Dream. If I can figure out how to attack through dreams, I’ll be able to protect you, Bai Qi.”

“Um, thank you for your troubles.”

Listening to Nicholas’s explanation, Bai Qi was warmed inside and then said, “Nicholas, I need you to use Dream Power to crack this realm, can you do it?”

“To crack with Dream Power? Let me see.”

At Nicholas’s words, his originally dematerialized body shimmered and solidified, indicating the arrival of his real body.

If he could switch from projection to real body in an instant and vice versa, wouldn’t that be a godly skill for sneak attacks?

Nicholas took the Dream Orb from Bai Qi, his eyes flashing green. Suddenly, the originally colorful Dream Orb turned pitch black.

Then, a portal resembling a black vortex appeared in front of Bai Qi.

“It’s open now?”

Bai Qi was surprised, but Nicholas explained, “The previous owner of this Dream Orb was strong. If not for my recent mastery over the Jade Dream, I wouldn’t have been able to open it so easily.”

“I see…”

Understanding, Bai Qi thought that of course, if not for the situation, the secret realm of the Dream Demon Beast would have been cracked long ago and he wouldn’t have been the one to do it.

“Anyhow, let’s enter and see. Since this Dream Orb still has so many hidden mechanisms, it’s probably going to take some effort to gain control over the realm.”

Nicholas nodded and carefully released some Jade Power to envelop Bai Qi and the wormgrass.

“The aura inside is eerie, you two better stay close to this dragon.”

“Okay.”

Bai Qi smiled helplessly, thinking whether they were being overly cautious because of his previous reckless approach that exposed their presence to the Black Dragons.

With Nicholas’s help, Bai Qi and the wormgrass safely entered into the dream.

This time, instead of an empty world, they found themselves in a barren wasteland. Above the barren land, a colossal Black Dragon was staring at them indifferently.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

“Holy crap, it’s Akuya!”

Bai Qi roared in surprise. This wasn’t a Dream Demon Beast’s secret realm, it was a damn portal!

“That’s not Akuya.”

Just then, Nicholas stepped in front of Bai Qi, “This seems to be our fear manifested by the realm.”

“I see…”

Bai Qi sighed in relief, but before he could ask any further, the Akuya in front of him suddenly roared.

“You damn bugs, daring to destroy the Black Dragon’s nest, die!”

As “Akuya” roared in rage, a strong dragon force surged toward Bai Qi. Bai Qi felt his soul tremble and almost passed out.

“Nicholas, are you sure this is just a dreamland creature?”

“Should be.”

Nicholas gently nodded but stepped forward, seemingly ready to verify it personally.

Bam!

The two giant dragons collided head-on, creating a loud bang. Surprisingly, on the first clash, Nicholas was forced back slightly.

“Are dreamland creatures this powerful? Or can demigods convey their power through dreams?”

Bai Qi was alarmed when he saw the “Akuya” opposite him growing even larger and more imposing.

“It can continue to gain strength?”

The more he saw, the more helpless Bai Qi felt. Nicholas, too, seemed to remember Akuya’s formidable power and became more and more cautious.

But “Akuya” clearly had no intention of letting Bai Qi and his company go, and attacked aggressively. Despite Nicholas’ strenuous resistance, he was no match for “Akuya” and was steadily driven back.

“The more I watch, the stranger it gets…”

Watching Nicholas being mercilessly battered by “Akuya”, Bai Qi gradually sensed something was abnormal.

“It wasn’t that ‘Akuya’ was too strong, but rather, too weak!”

Based on their tribal perception, Akuya could have instantly killed them, instead of all this drawn-out fighting.

Moreover, they were so stunned by Akuya’s appearance that they had forgotten this was just a dream.

“Epsilon, didn’t you say that nightmares are born from the fear of the dreamer?”

Bai Qi looked at the bug grass standing beside him, providing him scant protection, and asked.

“Nightmares? Yes, indeed.”

The bug grass nodded slightly in agreement.

“I see…”

Upon hearing this, Bai Qi closed his eyes to compose himself and then stepped out of the protective range of the bug grass.

“Chief, don’t… Er, Chief, are you okay?”

The bug grass immediately sent out a vine to pull Bai Qi back when it saw this, but it found that Bai Qi had not suffered any damage. Instead, “Akuya” on the opposite side was looking at Bai Qi with some trepidation.

“As expected.”

Looking at his undamaged body, Bai Qi grinned and charged towards “Akuya”, landing a punch on “Akuya’s” claw.

The punch was powerful and forceful by human standards, but it was practically useless against transcendent creatures.

But, that single punch had sent Akuya flying.

“What…”

Seeing this, Nicholas quickly sobered up, and a determined look flashed in his eyes as he looked at the somewhat disheveled “Akuya”.

In an instant, the once imposing “Akuya” began to shrink. After the bug grass also gave up defending, “Akuya” finally turned into a black dot and disappeared completely, and the surrounding area was once again enveloped in darkness.

“No wonder it’s called a Dream Demon Beast. It actually uses fear to create nightmares and attacks us.”

Bai Qi twisted his neck, looked at Nicholas and asked, “Nicholas, how did you overcome your fear of Akuya?”

Although he had overcome his fear, if any of them was still afraid of “Akuya”, “Akuya” would still revive.

“This dragon hasn’t overcome it, I just believe that I can definitely defeat it!”

Nicholas brandished his dragon claw vigorously, then looked at Bai Qi with curiosity, asking: “How did you overcome it, Bai Qi?”

“Um, you should ask the bug grass, my reason is a bit far-fetched.”

If he said that he considered Akuya a collection of potential materials, would Nicholas ever dare to get close to him in the future?

“Me? I just think that something the chief is not afraid of, I naturally shouldn’t be afraid of.”

The bug grass quickly gave its reason, but in its mind, an image of a crystal skeleton wielding a sword involuntarily appeared.

When it came to fear, the crystal skeleton was the real deal.

Just then, another change occurred in the dream. A huge eyeball suddenly appeared above their heads, staring unblinkingly at them.

“Crap, not again, who’s this fear belong to?”

Bai Qi blinked at the sudden apparition, while Nicholas stared back with his dragons’ might reignited.

This form, he had seen it in the memories of the Green Dragon. It was the Dream Demon Beast!

Seemingly sensing Nicholas’s dread, the huge eyeball began to grow larger,it was evidently absorbing Nicholas’s fear.

Bai Qi also realized what was happening and was about to hypnotize himself into seeing the Dream Demon Beast as material when he saw the bug grass suddenly flying towards the giant eye and diving into its pupil.

Then, that huge eye turned into a vortex, pulling in the bug grass along with the inclusive darkness while the surrounding area brightened up again.

When the darkness was completely gone, Epsilon slowly returned to Bai Qi’s shoulder, with a somewhat dissatisfied look in its eyes.

“Epsilon, are you okay?”

“Report, Chief, I’m okay, I should say that I’ve never felt better.”

The bug grass shook its head, and the huge eye appeared behind it, then an “Akuya” emerged from the eye, making a roaring sound towards Bai Qi.

But afterwards, “Akuya” bounded excitedly to the bug grass’s side, rubbing against it enthusiastically like a puppy.

“Is this, Epsilon, did you create this?”

Bai Qi reacted immediately and asked.

“No, you could say it’s something you all created. All I did was to guide out your fears.”

Epsilon replied with pride.

“So, Epsilon, you’ve obtained the powers of that Dream Demon Beast?”

Bai Qi was taken aback at the news. The Dream Demon Beast was a Legendary Ferocious Beast – Epsilon was this powerful now?

“It’s just the Dream Power left by the Dream Demon Beast. But given time, it might indeed be able to come back to life in the dreamland.”

The bug grass shook its head and started to float around in the air with a triumphant attitude.

“But alas, it met me. I guess it was just unlucky.”

“Unlucky? Because of Dream Eaters?”

Bai Qi understood and suddenly felt some sympathy for the Dream Demon Beast.
