An Extra’s Rise in an Eroge

Chapter 51 Intelligence Assessment I

The hall fell silent as a commanding voice cut through the air.

"Attention!"

A man stood before us, tall and imposing, dressed in pristine white robes that made him seem almost larger than life. His mere presence commanded focus, and the sound of his voice reverberated off the walls, a wave of tension settling over the room as all eyes turned to him. He looked over the crowd with a gaze as piercing as it was unyielding.

"I am Luke Bane," he announced, his tone stern and uncompromising. "Senior Professor of the Combat Department, and I'll be presiding over the examinations."

He paused, letting his words settle into the minds of every candidate in the room.

"I will be briefing you on the test details, so listen carefully. I won't repeat it twice."

The room was completely silent now, each of us standing rapt and attentive.

"The entrance test is divided into three categories," he continued, his gaze sweeping over the crowd. "These categories are Elemental Magic, Combat Prowess, and Intelligence Assessment."

Luke Bane's eyes narrowed slightly as he elaborated, "In the Elemental Magic category, your magical prowess will be tested. We will assess your ability to control and channel elemental forces effectively. In the Combat Prowess category, your physical strength and agility will be tested, along with your proficiency with various weapons. And finally, in the Intelligence Assessment, you will face a theory examination to gauge your strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and theoretical knowledge."

There was a quiet rustling in the hall as candidates took in his words, some nodding, others glancing at each other nervously.

"And for those of you who perform exceptionally in these tests," he added, "there will be benefits. Exceptional candidates may qualify for scholarships, along with exclusive mentorships from esteemed faculty members."

The prospect of receiving personal guidance from some of the best minds at Arcane Academy had everyone murmuring with anticipation. Among the crowd, I could see a spark ignite in the eyes of certain candidates, especially those who looked like they'd come from less affluent backgrounds. At the mention of scholarships, they seemed to stand a little taller, determination flashing in their expressions as they exchanged excited looks. For some, this academy represented more than just prestige or status—it was a chance at a brighter future.

I could hear a few of them muttering words of encouragement to themselves, vowing to give it everything they had. For them, these exams weren't just tests; they were a path to change everything.

"There is no need to pass all three tests. Based on your result you will be assigned different departments. If you perform well in combat test, you will be assigned combat department. If perform well in magic tests, you will be assigned mage department and if pass in theory exam you will assigned to scholar department" The professor said.

"Based on your scores you will be divided into classes from A to D." He added.

"With this all the explanation is done." He said

"First you will have your theory exams."

Professor Luke's authoritative tone carried through the room as he pointed out each group with precision. "From that girl over there to the boy beside her," he gestured, "you'll be with Professor Corvina." The candidates, caught between anticipation and nervous energy, began to move.

Turning his attention, Professor Luke pointed at another cluster, "And you, from the young man in the back to the one in the blue shirt, follow Professor Renard." Professor Luke continued, his methodical instructions reinforcing order, as each student found their place and examiner, preparing for the examination ahead.

Each pointed student nodded, some more eagerly than others, and followed their designated professors to their respective examination rooms. The crowd gradually began to thin as the candidates disappeared into the halls, each step carrying a mix of anticipation and trepidation.

At last, the professor's finger pointed directly at me. "You," he declared, "through to the young lady back there—follow Professor Lysandra."

With a nod, I followed Professor Lysandra's instructions, stepping into the examination room. The air was charged with a sense of anticipation, and the room itself seemed to demand respect, its rows of slanted desks and seats meticulously arranged to accommodate a hundred or so candidates.

"Take any seat you want. Hurry up. Question papers will be distributed in five minutes, and you will have two hours to complete the test," Professor Lysandra announced from the raised podium, her voice calm yet firm. She exuded an air of quiet authority, and her beauty only added to the aura of mystique around her.

Everyone hurriedly took their seats, filling the room with a quiet rustling as they settled in. I chose a spot at the back, flanked by Kaela and Cedric. Meanwhile, Lily, Lira, and Lyra remained outside; they wouldn't be attending the academy as students but rather as my attendants—a privilege granted to nobles, allowing up to three. Naturally, I'd filled my quota.

As everyone found their seats, Professor Lysandra gave a nod and picked up a stack of papers from her table. Without a word, she tossed the entire bundle toward the crowd of students, causing a few gasps as the pages seemed destined to scatter across the floor. But with a quick snap of her fingers, the bundle halted midair, and the individual sheets floated apart, gliding through the room with precise elegance. Each paper found its way directly to a student's desk, landing perfectly in front of them.

The room was filled with a murmur of awe, many of us captivated by the effortless display of control. Professor Lysandra surveyed us with an expression that hinted at satisfaction, as though this small display had set the tone for what she expected from us. I exchanged a glance with Kaela and Cedric, who looked equally impressed.

"Begin," she said simply, her voice steady and measured. The examination had begun, and a focused silence fell over the room as we each turned to face the questions ahead.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

As I picked up the question paper, a low chorus of groans and muffled whispers filled the room, the first signs of despair from those who'd likely skimmed through the questions. Some seemed to be outright wailing at the content, their confidence clearly shaken by the unexpected challenge.

Just then, Sol's familiar voice chimed in my mind:

[Ding! New Mission]

[Mission: Pass with the highest score]

[Reward: Title – Scholar]

[Scholar: Enhances theoretical knowledge, improves learning speed, boosts analytical thinking]

I glanced around the hall, taking in the expressions of those around me. Many students wore a look of utter confusion, some even biting their nails or tapping their pens anxiously against the desk. Kaela, sitting just ahead of me, had already pushed her question paper aside with a sigh, clearly in no mood to tackle the academic side of things. She was a natural-born warrior, but when it came to theoretical knowledge, that was another story.

For me, though, this test was a breeze. With all the game knowledge stored in my mind, I had an advantage over the rest. The questions might have been challenging to most, but they were familiar to me—trivial, even. Smirking, I picked up my pen and started answering, feeling like the highest score was already in the bag.

'Another title for the collection,' I thought to myself, smirking.
